How the chord transposer works
Transposing means moving every chord in a song up or down by the same amount so the whole thing lands in a new key. You do it most often to fit a song to your singer: if the original sits too high or too low, shift it a few semitones until the chorus is comfortable to belt. It is also how you match a song to an instrument, swap to easier chord shapes or play along with a recording that was cut in an odd key.
Type your chords on the line, in any common form: plain triads like C, G, Am and F, sevenths and extensions like Em7, Dmaj7 or Asus4, and slash chords like D/F# where a different bass note follows the slash. Then use the minus and plus buttons to shift the progression down or up one semitone at a time. The tool moves each root and each bass note while keeping the chord type intact, so a Cmaj7 stays a maj7 and a D/F# keeps its bass relationship after the move.
The transposed line updates as you go, and you can copy it with one tap to drop into your notes, a chat with the band or a chord sheet.
