How the rhyme finder works

A rhyme finder helps you finish a line when you are writing lyrics. You type the word at the end of your line and it lists words that rhyme with it, so you can pick the one that fits both the meaning and the meter. It is the songwriter's version of searching your head for what rhymes with this, only faster and with more options than you would turn up on your own, which is exactly what you want when the verse is almost there but the last word will not come.

This finder works in the language of the page. For Turkish it matches the ending sounds of the word, since Turkish is written the way it is spoken, and draws from the most common everyday vocabulary. For English it uses a pronunciation dictionary, so it matches how words actually sound rather than how they are spelled: that is why love returns glove and dove instead of words that only look similar on the page. Richer matches, the ones that share more sound, are listed first so the strongest rhymes are right at the top.

Type the last word of your line, scan the results and tap any word to copy it into your lyrics. No account, no download, it opens in your browser on whatever you are writing on. Use it while you write an original, rework the words of a cover or just chase a hook. A rhyme finder will not write the song for you, but it breaks the blank-page moment and keeps the words moving.

Frequently asked questions

How does the rhyme finder work?
You type the last word of your line and the tool lists words that rhyme with it. For English it uses a pronunciation dictionary, so matches are based on how a word sounds rather than how it's spelled, which is why "though" and "flow" come up together. The richest rhymes, those sharing the longest ending with your word, are listed first. Tap any word to copy it and paste it into your lyrics.
Which languages can I find rhymes in?
The tool works in the language of the page: Turkish on the Turkish pages, English on the English ones. The two work differently. Turkish is written the way it's spoken, so the endings of words are matched directly; English spelling and pronunciation drift apart, so a pronunciation dictionary is used, which means words that look different but sound the same still make the list. Switch the page language for the other.

Wrote the line? Bring the song to the band

A rhyme helps you finish the verse on your own. When the song is ready, BandUp is where it meets the band: add it to your repertoire and the group can float and vote on song ideas in one place, so the track you wrote in your notebook makes it onto the list for the next rehearsal.
